We recently stayed at Mseni Beach Lodge in Sodwana Bay for a dive trip during the off-peak season, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The accommodation was spotless upon arrival, and our cottage was serviced daily while we were out diving each morning, which was greatly appreciated. The room also has a fan and aircon, which helped a lot for the coastal humidity. The lodge caters exceptionally well for divers — each cottage has its own stand outside for hanging wetsuits and dive gear, which made everything so convenient. Every morning we were collected directly from the lodge and transported to the beach for our dives. One of the things we appreciated most was the flexibility around breakfast. Since we prefer not to eat before diving, we could enjoy our complimentary breakfast afterwards as a relaxed brunch upon returning. The food at Mseni Restaurant throughout our stay was outstanding — every meal was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. What truly made the experience memorable, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and delivered exceptional service. By the end of the trip, we had gotten to know many of them by name, which made the stay feel even more personal and welcoming. A special thank you to Thula, Mbali, Samu, and the cleaning staff at Mseni Beach Lodge, as well as NT, Debby, Frans, and Charlie from Amoray Diving for making our trip so enjoyable and memorable. We booked our entire trip through Manie from Travel 2 Learn (previously Travel 2 Dive), he made the whole process effortless from start to finish. Everything was well organised and stress-free. We will definitely be returning to Mseni Beach Lodge in the future and will absolutely dive again through Amoray Diving, their preferred dive centre. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sodwana Bay, especially divers looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.Posted on Handan IsikTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Natur pur. Posted on GavinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on marthasvinVerified Mseni lodge 😊 Mseni lodge was awesome, chalets nestled amongst the trees, well maintained, quiet, people were very friendly and ever helpful. The board walk down to the beach was well maintained and the beach was beautiful - and a short walk along the beach to the diving centres. The restaurant was fabulous and the breakfasts were epic (if you are off early for diving they will sort you out with a box to take it away with you). The meals were great and my only complaint weee they were far too tasty!Posted on DayTrip60226177483Verified Wedding Weekend to Remember! Fantastic weekend shared with family and friends at MSENI! The location in a lush seaside forest, near dive sites, with a great pool. The staff even brought us room service from the restaurant! If you like softer pillows bring your own but besides that this was overall an excellent stay in an amazing location.Posted on Jack BVerified Great place to stay in Sodwanna Bay! Family cabin was great. Excellent service. Restaurant was also very good. Enjoyed most of the menu items a lot. Was disappointed that the pizza crust had changed to pre-made; in the past the pizza was phenomenal.Posted on world-travellerVerified Top quality food, diving and more I really took a bit of a punt with Mseni. I booked it on the basis of a Google search - best diving in South Africa. I had to work out logistics, including renting a car for a five hour drive from Durban. But I have to say Mseni is a hidden gem and the highlight on my recent trip to South Africa. First off let me begin by giving compliments to the chef. I’ve forgotten his name but he is a lovely bloke and so is his wife. It would be so easy to serve up slop to a captive audience here. The nearest restaurant is a 15 min drive on a dirt road with mud and potholes. However he puts love into every bite. Breakfast is included and hearty and wonderful. Honestly scrambled eggs are so simple yet so easy to bugger up and mseni’s are just perfect. Add to that friendly service and a tasty cup of Joe and you have a meal that satisfies up to dinner time. Dinner is equally good. Veg and chicken curries are tasty and fresh. Pizza is good - we went with a bacon and egg breakfast one and it was superb. Spring rolls bobotie - lovely! But the highlight is the burger. The juiciest patty you could imagine in a fresh bun with all the fixings you want. I have to call out the service too- particularly Khona, who remembered preferences, and always served us with a warm smile. When she wasn’t available all the staff were responsive, patient and kind. Diving can be done through Amoray or Coral. They are owned by the same people and ea h will pick you up from Mseni. I went with Amoray and the only difference I could see was a bigger and better boat. Diving is not to be missed. It is some of the best diving I’ve done anywhere. The beach is also stunning for swimming, snorkeling and fishing. Feeling peckish? There is a reasonably priced cafe right on the beach. Rooms are little cottages. You never hear your neighbors. Rooms are cleaned daily and feature a fridge and all mod cons. Shout out to the cleaner who waited patiently for us to leave before restoring our room back to factory settings of clean. Staff is responsive but not in your business. They ask how you are doing but are not nosey. They also take time to make sure everything is ok or ask if you need anything. Deck chairs and umbrellas are available for the beach. We used them and would highly recommend. We enjoyed a quiet 6 nights diving and eating and would recommend it to anyone.
